Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (RSSDI-KCDD)
Welcome to RSSDI-Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology
Diabetes care is rapidly evolving globally, with digital tools and technologies playing a crucial role in enhancing quality, accessibility, and affordability. Digital technologies can be integrated into every stage of a patient's healthcare journey, including screening, diagnostics, evidence-based care, home care, and the prevention and management of complications.
To support RSSDI members in harnessing these digital advancements and improving diabetes care in India, the RSSDI-Koita Centre for Digital Diabetology (RSSDI-KCDD) has been established. RSSDI-KCDD will spearhead Digital Health initiatives aimed at enhancing the prevention and management of diabetes.
Founded in April 2024 with support from the Koita Foundation, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to accelerating Digital Health adoption in India, RSSDI-KCDD will collaborate with governments and NGOs as part of its Digital Health initiatives.
Vision of RSSDI-KCDD
The Centre’s vision is to leverage the power of digital technologies to enhance the overall quality of care, expand access to care, and drive cost-effectiveness. Further, the Centre will improve access to high-quality patient data at scale and digital tools to drive research & innovation and support public health policy making.

RSSDI-KCDD Diabetes EMR Initiative
The EMR initiative aims to develop a comprehensive RSSDI EMR Requirement (RER) for diabetes care, working closely with diabetes specialists, healthcare technology cos., and industry experts. Under this initiative, reputed HMIS/EMR companies will be empaneled. Empanelment will be based on (a) maturity of existing HMIS/EMR products (b) current client base and client satisfaction (c) product pricing (d) commitment to meeting RER requirements over the next 12-24 months.
This initiative will support the empaneled HMIS/EMR partners to enhance their products for diabetes care e.g., team-based care, tracking complications, etc. and help empaneled partners engage with hospitals and support doctors/hospitals select the HMIS/EMR that best meets their needs.
Over time, RSSDI-KCDD will track and support the EMR implementation to ensure success e.g., sharing of end-user feedback with hospitals & best practices and Digital Health training of doctors/nurses.
